  • Is the author or publisher of this work known?
  • What knowledge or skills do they have in the area?

Accuracy
  • Is this information correct?
  • Can it be checked against other credible sources?
  • Do the authors provide a bibliography?

Relevance
  • What is the author’s purpose in writing this website?
  • Who is the intended audience?
  • Remember, even if a site is about your topic, it might not be relevant to you.

Bias
  • Is the website written by a person or sponsored by an organization that would influence their writing?
  • Does the site address both sides of an issue?
  • Is the information balanced?

Efficiency
  • Is the information worth the effort?
  • Is the website clear and easy to use?
  • Can you find the information you need quickly?

Timeliness
  • Does the website make it clear when the information was last updated?
  • Is it maintained regularly?
  • Is this information that needs to be updated frequently?
